Sean Borg began his career in entertainment in 1989, after completing a course in journalism in London. Immediately after he concentrated his focus on freelance writing, for publications that ranged from teenage pop titles such as Fast Forward to trendy The Face magazine. This culminated with Sean being appointed as Associate Editor of the now defunct publication Don’t Tell It, interviewing the likes of the artists’ ‘Gilbert & George’, Hollywood actress, Samantha Mathis, the famous ‘wild children’ of the 80’s - Emma Ridley and Amanda De Cadenet, and spotting talent such as Gavin Rossdale of international super-group - Bush; placing Rossdale on the cover before any other magazine had.
As a ‘mover and shaker’ on the London social scene, Sebastian Scott - former Director of top television company Planet 24, spotted Sean’s talents and offered him the opportunity to join the team at Channel 4’s The Word as a researcher. He worked under then Editor Paul Ross, impressing him so much, that Ross promoted Sean within six months to Assistant Producer giving him his own segment in the series, The Gossip, which became an immensely popular part of the show.
After two seasons with the show, Planet 24 Executives - Charlie Parsons and Waheed Ali, offered Sean a chance to move over to the companies other popular hit – The Big Breakfast, jumping at the chance to further his TV and media skills he accepted the job and worked there for three months producing the popular showbiz news segment slot ‘Snap, Cackle & Pop’.
Upon leaving Planet 24, Sean concentrated his talents in a different area of media - public relations, at first working on events in London with then unknown British socialite, Tamara Beckwith. Using his skills acquired thus far resulted Sean propelled Beckwith into becoming a household name and tabloid favourite in the UK proving that he had the gift of understanding what made ‘good PR’ and of course ‘what made the news!’ Together, Borg and Beckwith became well known sought after figures in London and everyone wanted them on “their list”.
In 1995 they sensationally launched top London store – Koh Samui along with Tara Palmer-Tompkinson and Tamara Yeardye-Mellon (now Director of Jimmy Choo), and social writer Simon Mills, christened Sean the “It-boy” in GQ Magazine, placing him firmly on the map as ‘one-to-know’. It was during this period that Sean spread his ‘showbiz’ wings and headed off to Los Angeles.
In the five years Sean Borg spent in LA he continued to keep in contact with London and became a contributing editor for Harpers & Queen. In Los Angeles he adopted the American work ethos “start at the bottom and work your way up!” - he took a job delivering the mail for a short time at various entertainment agencies in Hollywood. He then accepted an assistant position at top management company, Gallen/Morrey and Associates (Sandy Gallen was then manager to Michael Jackson and Dolly Parton). Sean’s ambitious nature led him to be the Publicist and spokesperson to various artist/friends in Hollywood, this included Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star – Charlotte Chatton and Golden Globe nominee – actress, Sammi Davis.
In 1997 well-known Director, Marcus Nispel, approached Sean; hearing of Borg’s PR savvy had asked him to represent his public relation interests globally. This led him to be appointed (by Nispel) as Head of Public Relations at RSA/USA (Ridley Scott and Associates) in LA, who were then Nispel’s video and commercial representatives. This job even lead to Nispel casting Sean Borg as a featured ‘socialite’ in Puff Daddy’s $2,000,000 music video for ‘Victory’ alongside Dennis Hopper and Danny Devito.
After a year and a half working with Nispel, Sean met top Manager Dolores Robinson who offered Sean a job as an assistant/management trainee at her company Robinson Entertainment. Dolores’ ‘A-List’ client base included, Rosie Perez, Téa Leone, Wesley Snipes and Michael Clarke Duncan (Oscar nominated star of The Green Mile).
Following that, Sean was beginning to miss the UK and felt he could emulate the success ‘tasted’ in the US back in England and armed with the experience gained in LA Sean, wished to further his success and headed back to London.
On a brief visit to the UK, Sean accompanied close friend, Emmy Award winning actress, Michelle Collins, to a BAFTA Awards ceremony. It was at this point that Sean began to form Public Relations firm, SPIRIT MEDIA.

Sean recently appeared in the top hit MTV Europe show Totally Scott-Lee, this peaked 1,500,000 million viewers during its run this year, which was a massive result for MTV UK, as well as creating and producing a pilot for a reality ‘fly-on-the-wall’ TV show which features Sean and four of his close friends (taster pilot available on request).
